The proof is in my hand
It’s so exciting to get hands on a real book-shaped object finally, after the years of grind, and the sheaves of paper, and the months in front of a screen. This is what it’s come to, these pages all bound and shiny. I had a great time in Oxford at my publisher, David Fickling Books, signing proof copies. And one of the loveliest things about going to see your publisher: I came away with a whole box of exciting books to read.
I can’t wait to see the finished object now, with its proper cover, and minus all those last-minute typos and glitches (though I bet someone will find at least one more).
